Still Don’t Have Gmail IMAP
So I’m sure everyone knows by now that Gmail came out with IMAP service a couple of days ago. In case you don’t know, the advantage of IMAP is having the access to your email from any machine all synchronized automatically. I’m been a faithful Gmail user for more than three years. I have two Gmail accounts, one personal, the other one I use to sign up on mailing lists and business contacts. Ever since I got my iPhone, I’ve been wanting to using it to access my Gmail accounts. I tried, but totally hated it. Since Gmail used POP access, my emails I read on iPhone weren’t being downloaded to my computer anymore since they’d been read. I’d rather keep all my mail on my computer. so I stopped using iPhone to access Gmail. I was so excited to hear the new IMAP feature a couple of days ago. I’ve been checking my account at least three times a day to see if my accounts had that new feature. I can bitterly say, I still don’t have IMAP access for my two Gmail accounts. Perhaps to annoy myself even more, I created a new Gmail account tonight just for fun, and it has IMAP access already! I know Gmail’s rolling out this service slowly, but you’d think for a loyal, and long time customer they’d do it sooner, rather than later. J, who’s had a Gmail account for two years, barely uses it, has IMAP access! So it’s really no wonder that I’m totally annoyed. I’ll be continuously checking my Gmail accounts, wishing, and hoping I’ll get my IMAP soon.
Update: 10/30/07, got IMAP for my main personal account.
11/1/07, got IMAP for my other Gmail account. YEH!
Me too. I’ve been a faithful Gmail user since it was offered as a alpha product, and I’m STILL WAITING.
I check my account continuously through the day and I have Thunderbird configured and ready to go but no joy so far.
:shock::shock::shock::shock:

I still don’t have it either, and my account was created 16/09/2004 (mm/dd/yy) - it’s *old*. I have MobileMail.app (iPod Touch) and Mail.app (Leopard) all set up and ready to go, I’ve tried all the location (US) and language (US English) tricks possible, but nothing. Nada. Zilch. It’s frustrating because my Gmail account is my primary address and I use it heavily.
